Design Services

Comprehensive Outside Plant (OSP) and Inside Plant (ISP) network design for public agencies and private carriers — from initial route engineering through construction-ready documentation.

  • Full spectrum of OSP, ISP design – We provide end-to-end outside plant and inside plant design services for both public-sector and private network owners, covering everything from preliminary route engineering and make-ready analysis to detailed construction drawings, splicing diagrams, and as-built documentation. Our design teams work across greenfield builds, network expansions, and system upgrades, ensuring every deliverable meets carrier-grade standards and local jurisdictional requirements.

  • Network Technologies – Our engineers design across the full range of network architectures, including FTTX (Fiber to the X) and FTTH (Fiber to the Home) residential and commercial deployments, GPON and PON passive optical network systems, Small Cell and wireless infrastructure siting, Dark Fiber route design and licensing support, SCADA network design for utility monitoring and control systems, and Ultra Long Haul and Long Haul fiber routes connecting regional and interstate networks.

  • Permitting Services – Navigating multi-jurisdictional permitting is one of the most time-consuming parts of any network build — we manage it end to end. Our permitting team prepares and submits applications and supporting engineering documentation for Department of Transportation (DOT) right-of-way permits, local municipality approvals, railroad crossing agreements, natural gas (NG) pipeline crossing permits, and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (U.S.C.O.E.) authorizations for work affecting waterways and wetlands. We track each application through review, respond to agency comments, and coordinate approvals to keep projects on schedule.

  • Network & Site Location Audits – We conduct thorough OSP and ISP network audits and site location assessments to validate existing infrastructure, identify discrepancies between as-built conditions and current records, and produce accurate, up-to-date documentation. These audits give asset owners a clear, reliable picture of their network for planning, compliance, and future design work.

Drafting Services

Full-service ROW, utility, and structural drafting support — from raw field data and redlines to finished, standards-compliant deliverables

  • ROW, Utility & Structural Drafting – Our drafting team produces accurate, standards-compliant drawings across the full project lifecycle, including Right-of-Way (ROW) maps and legal descriptions, utility plans and profiles for both underground and aerial infrastructure, and structural detail drawings for poles, vaults, cabinets, and supporting facilities. Every drawing is prepared to client, municipal, and utility-owner CAD/GIS standards, so deliverables move smoothly through review and into construction.

  • Data Migration & Format Conversion – We convert and migrate drafting and mapping data between CAD and GIS platforms and legacy file formats, preserving layer structures, attributes, and geospatial accuracy along the way. This keeps historical design data usable as project teams and standards change, and lets clients consolidate records from multiple sources into a single, consistent format.

  • Redline to As-Built – We turn field redlines, markups, and construction notes into finished, accurate as-built drawings — reconciling what was actually built against the original design. The result is a clean, reliable record of the completed project that supports future maintenance, permitting, and design work.

Technical Services

The Periti Group provides field and network technical services that support telecom and utility clients through every stage of network growth, from early planning to construction-ready deliverables. Our teams combine field experience, modern data-capture tools, and engineering oversight to deliver accurate, verified information that reduces rework, speeds up permitting, and keeps projects moving on schedule.

  • Network Planning — We provide end-to-end planning and design support for network expansion, upgrades, and equipment changes. This includes route evaluation, feasibility review, existing-infrastructure analysis, and coordination with utility owners and permitting agencies. Our planners work closely with engineering and field teams so that every design is buildable, cost-effective, and aligned with client standards and long-term capacity goals.

  • Utility Pole Assessments and Testing — Our team performs structural assessments and load evaluations of utility poles to confirm they can safely support new attachments, equipment, or modifications. We evaluate pole condition, clearances, attachment heights, and loading against NESC requirements and pole-owner standards. The results support make-ready decisions, identify poles that need replacement or remediation, and provide documentation required for attachment applications and compliance.

  • Field Data Collection — We capture accurate, field-verified data using industry-standard tools including Katapult Pro, IKE, and LiDAR. Our field technicians collect pole heights, attachment measurements, span lengths, photos, GPS locations, and surrounding infrastructure details, which are then processed and quality-checked before delivery. This produces reliable datasets that feed directly into design, pole loading analysis, and make-ready engineering, reducing return trips and costly field errors.

  • Professional Engineer (PE) Availability — Licensed Professional Engineers are available to review, stamp, and sign off on drawings and engineering packages when required by clients, utilities, or permitting authorities. PE involvement provides an added level of technical assurance, helps deliverables meet regulatory and jurisdictional requirements, and supports faster approvals

Subsurface Utility Mapping And Design

Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) services across Quality Levels A through D, designed to eliminate unknown utility risk before it becomes a design or construction problem.

  • SUE Quality Levels – We deliver the full range of ASCE 38-02 Subsurface Utility Engineering quality levels, matched to the level of certainty your project needs.
    – Level D — Utility information compiled from existing records, as-builts, and utility owner plans to establish a baseline understanding of what’s in the ground.
    – Level C — Surveying and correlating visible above-ground utility features (manholes, valves, meters, poles) with existing records to improve positional accuracy.
    – Level B — Designating the horizontal location of subsurface utilities using surface geophysical methods such as electromagnetic and ground-penetrating radar (GPR) technology.
    – Level A — Precise horizontal and vertical location of utilities through non-destructive vacuum excavation (potholing), providing exact depth, size, material, and condition data at critical points.

  • Benefits of SUE – Investing in SUE data early pays for itself many times over across the life of a project:

  • Reduced utility relocation — Accurate utility data allows designs to be engineered around existing infrastructure, minimizing costly and time-consuming relocations.

  • Fewer project delays — Identifying utility conflicts during design, rather than during construction, keeps projects moving on schedule.

  • Reduced surprise encounters — Verified utility locations mean crews aren’t hitting unmarked or mipmapped lines in the field, protecting both schedule and safety.

  • Lower overall project costs — Avoiding emergency relocations, change orders, and construction delays translates directly into savings on total project cost.
